Health Conditions: Gingivitis

Gingivitis is a mild bacterial disease that affects the gums. Due to poor oral hygiene, a sticky substance called plaque, which is a mix of bacteria, develops on the teeth and produces toxins that irritate the gums. This leads to inflamed gums & causes irritation, bleeding and bad breath.
If left untreated, it can lead to a serious condition called periodontitis. In this, the gums begin to pull back from the base of the teeth making it loose & ultimately leading to tooth loss.
