Health Conditions: Scurvy

Scurvy is a disease caused due to lack of vitamin C in the diet. This vitamin is essential for formation of collagen in the body.
The initial symptoms of this condition include fatigue, diarrhoea, nausea, fever, loss of appetite and painful joints and muscles.
As the condition worsens, one may get swollen spongy gums that may be prone to bleeding & loose teeth. Slow healing of wounds, bulging eyes, bleeding under the skin and swelling in joints and muscles are a few other symptoms of this condition.
