Health Conditions: Sleep apnea

Sleep apnea is a common disorder characterized by discontinuous breathing during sleep. Such discontinuous breathing makes one wake up in middle of the night with a loud snore. This condition is usually associated with morning headaches & insomnia.
Obese people are more likely to suffer from this condition as during sleep, their airway can collapse and block the flow of air to the lungs leading to sleep apnea. At times, enlarged tonsils in children may also lead to this condition.
